Zip line between Mazatlán’s El Faro and Observatorio

Mazatlán is gearing up to launch an exhilarating new attraction this summer—a zip line that promises breathtaking views from El Faro to El Observatorio Mazatlán 1873. Mariel Ancona Infanzón, the General Director of the National Port System Administration (Asipona) in Mazatlán, anticipates the zip line’s completion by July, just in time for the summer vacation rush.

This ambitious project, spearheaded by entrepreneur Amado Guzmán Reynaud, faced some delays as it undergoes safety certification by a prestigious American company. This certification is crucial as it ensures the zip line meets international safety standards, making it a safe adventure for all visitors, including cruise ship tourists and international guests.

Ancona Infanzón emphasized the importance of this safety certification, noting that only a handful of companies worldwide are qualified to certify such projects. He reassured that all necessary permits have been obtained and the project is in compliance with all legal requirements, paving the way for a smooth installation process.

Once operational, the zip line will offer an adrenaline-pumping experience, soaring from heights of 140 meters down to 60 meters over a 1,265-meter steel cable. Adventurers can reach speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour, choosing to ride seated or in a thrilling “Superman” pose over the majestic sea.

This new attraction is set to become a highlight of Mazatlán, adding to its appeal as a top tourist destination.
